Docent provides a Console for configuring an in-app guide and a software development kit for installing it in your application. You install the SDK; the guide appears in your app; your end users talk or type to it. Docent operates the servers the guide talks to.
Your account
You sign in to the Console with an email address or a Google or GitHub account. A workspace holds your apps, members and keys. You are responsible for who you invite and for keeping your secret keys secret. Removing a member takes effect immediately.
What you agree to
You will only install the guide in applications you are entitled to modify. You will tell your end users that a guide is present and that it can hear them when they allow the microphone. You will not use the guide to collect information the masking rules exist to remove, and you will not attempt to disable those rules.
What the guide will not do
The guide points, navigates and explains by default. It performs an action in your application only where you have marked the element as allowed and the end user has asked for it in that turn. It never submits a form, clicks a control matching a purchase, payment or deletion pattern, or types into a field, outside that allowlist. These limits are enforced in the SDK and cannot be turned off by configuration.
Your data
Data handling is described on the privacy page and the vendors involved on the sub-processors page. Your knowledge, goals and analytics are yours. We do not use them to train models and do not share them with other customers.
Availability and changes
Docent is provided as it is today, without an uptime commitment on the Free tier. We may change the product, and we will change these terms when we do. Material changes are announced in the Console before they take effect.
Ending the relationship
You may ask us to delete your workspace at any time. We export your data first, then remove it. We may suspend a workspace that violates these terms, and will say why.
